Skywatch Friday

The past weekend was spend in London.

We arrived friday at Earl's Court tubestation:

This was across the street from our hostel:

Clouds from above on the way back to Amsterdam:

From Schiphol Airport I first went passed my moms who lives near here (Not the airport but the picture!):

Skywatch Friday

This appartmentbuilding is at some 5 seconds walking-distance from my place. The people who live in it pay approx. 950 euro's a month on mortgage until the full 240.000 euro's is paid. My rent is a lot less than that and I've got a garden and no "French Balcony", doors that swing open inwards with a fence preventing people from falling out. We both occupy the same amount of square metres. Some 39.

This is the passegeway I usually take going to the nightshop or to my moms a bit further away.

You might remember the buildings, shaped like pyramids but are actually shaped after the christmas-tree in the architect's office? I published those shots a few SWF's ago. Well, here they are again at yet a different perspective and at another time of day. Have a look at the brilliant solar-powered lights on the little pedestrians/bikers bridge!

Skywatch Friday

Thank you all (and a special thanks tot the Skywatch-team!) for all your nice comments on last week's entry, when I was chosen Guest Host of the week!

Here are some other shots:

On my way to see my doctor, taken on the day my mom had her 74th birthday:

This used to be a church and is now a place where workshops and lectures are given as well as a theatre and a cafe/restaurant. On top of that, my Ph.D. has her practice in it. Bit out of focus, I'm afraid...(But I loved those clouds!)

This building is just outside the city centre and is a place where out of town visitors can park their cars. Right next to it is a bus station and a tramstop from where people can go directly either to central station of Leidseplein-square or wherever. Basically.

This might well be Amsterdam's youngest canal and is located at IJburg, the city's youngest district

Just some random shots of Amsterdam, the city where I was born, where I live and where I intend to die. But not just yet. The little girl you see is my daughter, taken when we where in Vondelpark a few days ago. Oh, and apparently I accidently cut off the head of some tourist. Can you find his head?
