Saturday august 6th it was Gaypride, time for the Canalparade in Amsterdam. 80 boats participated, lead by the boat of the Dutch Ministry of Defense. For the first time "our" boys and girls were allowed to wear their uniforms, showing homosexuality also exists in the military, wether people want to stick their heads in the sand or not. Special guest was former American luitenant Dan Choi, who got expelled from the US Army. Not because he did a bad job but simply because of his sexual orientation.
It was my honour to be asked to join boat number five, the fairytale-boat. Filled with people of all (trans)genders, continents, religions and sexual orientations. It was a great and proud day!

What a grand collection of shots...loved the video. I know everyone had a fab time...a real feeling of togetherness. Know you must have been thrilled to participate. Having it on the water must have been very special. genie
Mooie serie met die typisch Hollandse zomerluchten anno 2011 boven het feestje, Terrence.
Het schijnt nu echt een paar dagen zomer(s) te worden, maak er een mooi weekend van!
Nice post and your photos, too.
Regards!
