It all adds up

On a regular basis, questions like these pop up in my social media feed:

In my head 48 gets written beneath 27. So I add 40+20=60. That leaves 8+7=15. Those numbers go under eachother again. 60+10=70; 0+5=5. Put the last number under the previous one again and you get: 70+5=75. Tadaa! Goes a bit faster if you don't think about it and just add 27+48=75. Or 30+50=80; 3+2=5. Substract that outcome from the previous one and you get 75.

Tip for those who find adding up difficult: play darts. It helps because you have to make quick calculations if you don't want your opponent to get bored and leave the match (and the bar) without buying you a beer.

How do you add up numbers?
