What if archaeology replaced football?

Of course the game of football is very important. Millions of people watch it and a couple of million people play it. In The Netherlands alone the people (a population of 17 million) willingly pay 300 million euros each and every year just so the football stadiums can be maintained and security around the games can be paid for.

Some players make more than some countries! Take Arjan Robben. These days he makes 36,000 euros. A day. For playing a game.

Can you imagine a world where you don't hear something about the game of football (even outside the season!) for a whole day?

Suppose not football but archaeology is the talk of the day?

Who's to blame?

When a person gets hit by a car and dies, who is to blame?

The car manufacturer? The person himself for crossing the street, ignoring the red pedastrian light?

The city council perhaps for not making it obvious enough there's a dangerous crossing?

Or is it the person behind the wheel who did not pay enough attention?

Is it the bartender who gave him one drink too many?

Is the inventor of alcohol to blame?

In other words: when something bad happens, it's not always clear who's fault it is.
