What makes you tick?

What drives you? What moves you? What interests you? Why don't you talk about it? Because you watch TV. A lot. Over five hours a day are filled with filling our minds with commercials, soaps, movies, news and the occasional documentary.

The average American (not you of course!) spends about two hours a day with the smartphone and about an hour and a half talking to the significant other. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2333261/We-spend-MORE-time-phones-partner.html

Do we really value television and phone more then our kids or partners?

It appears so but what do you think?

Imagine America as a dictatorship

What is your idea of a Democracy? And does America hold up to that idea? No. Read this article to learn why:
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/princeton-experts-say-us-no-longer-democracy

America will never be a Democracy. Not as long as people as Sarah Palin and Eric Dondero have a thing or two to say. The latter argued with me that 'all socialists are nazi f*cks!' or something the like. I told him only insecure people use swearwords in stead of arguments and asked him one simple question: 'What is socialism really? And please answer that question without checking FoxNews.com first.' Of course he couldn't. Furthermore he stated he hates people on welfare 'because they are too lazy to work!' But on the other hand he tells people to quit their jobs if they find out their boss voted Democrats. So he hates people on welfare and wants Democrats to go on welfare.

What do you think: can we blame the American education system for their (Palin's and Dondero's) stupidity or is there something more to it than that?

Read this if you want to know a bit more about Eric Dondero: http://www.loonwatch.com/2012/01/why-eric-dondero-former-aid-is-smearing-ron-paul-he-is-a-rabid-islamophobe-and-sharia-conspiracy-theory-nut/

And just imagine America as a dictatorship:

You are prejudiced

We all have our prejudices. Yes, including you.
We see a movie that's historically correct and shout: 'Hey, that's not right! He's a Scotsman so he should wear a kilt!' When the story is situated before the 1600's it's absolutely correct. And you are wrong.

Thing is: the media have so much power over us that we rather believe Hollywood filmmakers than our history teacher. Name the first three things that come to mind when you think of Holland and once more answer the question: 'Are you prejudiced?'

How one man invented Public Relations

You only buy what you need, right? Wrong!
I bet you own more then you can carry with your bare hands.
Why is that?

It's all because of one man: Edward Bernays. His uncle, Sigmund Freud, had a few ideas about the sub conscious of men and Edward found ways to influence our mind. He called it 'Public Relations' and we all know what that means:
marketeers can make us think we want something really bad. We want a new mobile phone because the one we have is 'over a year old'! That's right: we want a new one, not because the old one is broken but because it's 'old'.

Stupid, right? But how do they do it? How do 'they' make us want something we don't need? There are many answers to that question but there is one simple way to not fall into the trap of overconsuming: think before you buy!

War is wrong. Always.

Think about the reasons for war. Leave out: 'Selling more weapons', 'Obtaining oil rights' and see what reasons are left. 'The way we believe in God is better than your way of believing!' and 'I want the piece of desert you live in!' and 'God told us we can have your land!' Well, maybe so. But did He also tell you to kill everyone on that piece of soil? I don't think so. 'But it says so in the Bible!'

The Bible is a collection of books, written over a periode of several centuries, from all kinds of different people and cultures. The King James version was re-written by the churchleaders at the time, just to suit their purposes. Don't believe me? Look it up.

And before you say: 'Yes, but sometimes war is good', look at he following video and tell me if you have changed your mind:
