Skywatch Friday

Here we go: the first few shots taken with the new camera: a Canon EOS450D. We still need to figure out how it works and hope to get the hang of the basics before our skitrip at the end of fabruary. These were taken by my 14 year old son, by the way.

Skywatch Friday

Walking the streets of my hometown of Amsterdam I witnessed this very strange phenomena in the sky. Anyone got a clue?

From a small bridge not far from my place I saw a different side of "the piramids" that are actually shaped after the christmas-tree in the architect's office. There's also a bird. Can you spot it?

Standing on that same bridge you can see this genuine old windmill. Unfortunately "the piramids" block the wind from it so it can't work anymore.

Walking from my house towards the bridge connecting two parts of the city:

"The Piramids" up a little closer:

Skywatch Friday

It was a really hot day shortly after the end of summer when my oldest daughter took a break from playing:

Last wednesday I was in a meeting that was being held at the 23rd floor of the main office of a company I used to work for back in the days their tallest office only reached seven floors into the sky:

The meeting had come to an end and I witnessed people making clouds:

Just before the meeting started I tried to find my house but all I could find were the piramid-like buildings (the ones shaped after the christmas-tree in the architect's office) that are located at a mere five minute walk from my place:

A few days ago I got startled by this flock of birds that previously sat peacefully on the edge of the building across the street from my house. Luckily I had just finished placing a phonecall with my camera. Something (or someone) startled them:

And suddenly I found myself stranded on some weird planet, straight out of an old Star Trek-episode. Weird painted clouds and even stranger structures that are supposed to be ancient buildings, left by a long gone race of super-intelligent beings...

It was a quarter past three when I took this one:

A tree at a square near my moms, mere days before it lost it's leafs:

The "piramids" that are actually modelled after the christmas-tree in the architects' office. Especially for the fans...;-) And those are actually birds in the sky and not specks of dust on the lens of my mobile.

My street:

Skywatch Friday

On my way home from guitar-practice:

It was a beautiful day when friends of mine got married. This was shot around the corner from the church:

A friend of mine had an exposition of her art. The gallery was near here:

It's hard to capture a bird in full flight with my mobile but I got this one:

Coming home from my homoeopath I came across these clouds (And no, the pic is not taken with a fish-eye lens...):

Skywatch Friday

Coming out of Amsterdam Central Station around seven in the evening, this is your view:

Clouds over Amsterdam:

A canal near my mom's...

We took this metro, coming home from a friend's:

This is how the setting sun looks, not far from my place:

Skywatch Friday

Not much sky to see here and my mobile is not the best camera for nightshots but nice building nonetheless me thinks:

On my way to a Pilates-session I saw these clouds:

The "piramids" that are actually modelled after the christmas-tree in the architects' office from up close:
